At South County Cats, our work follows the journey of the cats we serve. Whether you are out in the field, caring for cats at our facility, or helping behind the scenes, you are a vital part of this lifesaving cycle.
The following descriptions summarize our various volunteering opportunities:
Trapping (TNR Support): Help humanely trap community cats and kittens so they can be spayed/neutered and safely returned.
Cat Care Crew: Ensure community and feral cats are fed, clean, and comfortable before and after surgery. (Minimal handling, Safety First protocol).
Laundry & Facility Support: Help keep clinic linens washed/dried/folded/put away so it's ready to go for our patients to stay clean, warm and safe.
Cleaning Carriers & Equipment: Sanitize traps, carriers, and litter boxes to protect our cats and prevent the spread of disease.
Fostering: Provide a temporary, loving home (2–8 weeks) for kittens or cats waiting for adoption. Food, supplies and training provided!
Community Outreach: Staff our table at fun local events (like Farmer's Markets and Sea-MEOW Con) to share our spay-neuter resources.
Fundraising & Grants: Support events like CAToberfest, help with community fundraisers, or research grant opportunities.
